Broiled Bailey's Hot Chocolate

When the temperature starts to drop, I love cozying up inside with a hot cup of something delicious. Sometimes a simple cup of tea hits the spot, but sometimes you just need hot chocolate. And of course, if you are having hot chocolate you gotta have marshmallows!

But how do you get that perfect melty on the inside, slightly crunchy on the outside, campfire marshmallow in your hot chocolate?

Broiling!

Yup. We are throwing our mugs in the oven and broiling our hot chocolate and marshmallows! It melts the marshmallows perfectly, adding a totally yummy topping to the creamy hot chocolate with Bailey's Irish Cream. Your ordinary hot chocolate from a packet will taste kinda sad in comparison.

Broiled Bailey's Hot Chocolate (makes about 3 servings)
3 cups milk
1/3 cup half and half
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup Bailey's Irish Cream
marshmallows

1. In a small saucepan, add milk and half and half. Turn on medium heat and let mixture warm up. Add chocolate chips.
2. Let chocolate chips melt in milk mixture, whisking frequently. Once the chocolate has fully combined, add Bailey's. Stir to combine and transfer to oven safe mugs.
3. Turn on broiler to low. Place marshmallows on top of hot chocolate and place mug under broiler. Keep the oven door open and watch your marshmallows, they cook fast! Once your marshmallows are nice and toasty, remove from heat (use an oven mitt!) and enjoy!
